NOTICE
The Lyon County Board of Commissioners will meet in the Commissioner’s Room, 607 W. Main St, Marshall, MN, at 6:30 pm Wednesday April 18, 2018, to take public comment on the status of Internet/Broadband service in rural and underserved areas of Lyon County. The county board will also review a recent Broadband Feasibility Study addressing needs for increased capacity within Lyon County.  The public is invited to attend to review the report and share their concerns.  If you cannot attend, you may send your comments to This email address is being protected from spambots. Human Resources

Human Resources administers the personnel policies and procedures adopted by the Lyon County Board as well as classification and compensation plans, performance planning and review programs, and maintaining personnel records for each employee. Human Resources coordinates the recruitment, selection, orientation, development, transfer, and separation of employees. Affirmative action, Civil Rights, Minnesota and Federal Family and Medical Leave Act, long-term disability, HIPAA and ADA compliance are also major functions of the office.  The office coordinates and administers employee benefit programs for all departments, and works closely with Lyon County Administration and the County Board. In addition, Human Resources  supports all Lyon County divisions and departments in the areas of:

Lyon County is accepting applications for the position of IT Technician. This position assists in all communications and technology information functions in Lyon County, such as the diagnosing, repairs, upgrades, or replacing of hardware and software. The IT Technician’s primary responsibilities include help desk support and assisting with PC setups and installations. Work is performed under the supervision of the IT Director. Qualifications are: Associates/Technical degree with coursework in Information Technology, or related field. Six months’ experience working in a help desk environment; proficiency in computer hardware support and Microsoft office products, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
