Garvin Park Reservations are taken through ReserveAmerica.

1. 19 of Garvin Park's 59 campsites can be reserved;

     5 sites in each camping loop can be reserved;

          Lower Campground (Sites 1, 2, 3, 4, 5)

          Upper Campground (Sites 26, 27, 28, 29, 30)

          Horse Campground (Sites 1, 2, 3, 4, 5)

          4 Tent-Only sites in the primitive camp. (Sites 1, 2, 3, 6)

2. Payment (credit card only) due at time of reservation.

     Fee is $20 / night electric, OR $ 5 / night Primitive (tent only)

     ReserveAmerica carges $ 3.50 per reservation fee, and 2.2% transaction CreditCard transaction fee.

3. Site details (electrical, length of camping pad, etc.) are posted on the Reserve America site map.

4. Walk-ins (1st Come 1st Serve) are not allowed at Reservable Sites.

Lyon County has two parks with camping; Garvin Park (50 sites & Tent Only Camping), and Twin Lakes (17 sites). Both parks have electrical at each site (except primitive camp at Garvin Park. A brief overview of each park follows.

GARVIN PARK

• Lower Campground: 15 sites with electricity
• *Campground Host site is Site #11 (lower camp)
• Upper Campground: 14 sites with electricity, and 1 non-electric site
• Horse Camp: 17 sites with electricity. (starting August 2013)
• Primitive Campground: 8 non-electric tent sites. 

TWIN LAKES PARK

• North Campground: 15 Sites (1 ADA site) with electricity

CAMPING RATES: 

    $20.00 all campground electrical sites

    $  5.00 primitive campground only (without electricity)

Park Amenities and Facilities: Both park have Shower Facilities, and a Dump Station. (Off Site Dumping for non-registered campers is $5.00). Garvin Park has plenty of recreation, and play space including a softball field, several sets of playground equipment, and disc golf. Twin Lakes is a popular area for fishing and West Twin Lake is for non motor use only making a great place for paddle-boarding, canoe and kayaking.

Nestled in the oaks woods at the top of the old tubing hill, the Garvin Park Warming House provides a scenic vista view of the park; making this a great location in any season for your gathering; whether that is a family reunion, fun day for the kids, or a corporate retreat in a rustic setting. Lyon County has added some new luxuries to the Warming House. The building now offers a big screen television with a DVD player, rustic bar, and furniture to provide users with some inside entertainment on those too cold or wet to sled days. In addition, we have added some warm new touches to the décor, such as a few local pelts and some historic prints and signs that encompass the history of Garvin Park.”The Warming House is now called the Park Lodge and can be used for company get-togethers, family gatherings, sledding weekends, etc.

Shelter Rental:  Shelters can be rented throughout the year for $25.00 per day. Contact park staff to schedule rental of the building. 

Picnicking: In addition to camping facilities, Garvin Park has five (5) large picnic shelters, and numerous picnic tables spread throughout the park. Four (4) shelters have electricity. Twin Lakes park has one picnic shelter with electricity.
