Lyon County Deputy Sheriff Lyon County is accepting applications for the position of Deputy Sheriff. Applicants must have at a minimum an associate degree in law enforcement; be licensed (or eligible for licensure upon appointment which is anticipated to occur in June 2013) as a Peace Officer in the State of Minnesota; and possess a valid MN driver license or have the ability to obtain one prior to appointment. Successful applicants must also pass an extensive pre-employment background investigation and criminal history check as well as successful completion of a pre-employment physical including a drug and alcohol screening test prior to appointment. Starting 2013 Deputy wage rate is $19.39 to $27.15. The on call general equipment operator position will be required to operate a variety of equipment used in the repair and maintenance of highways and related areas for Lyon County. Duties include, but are not limited to: operating specialized equipment; performing manual labor; performing preventative maintenance; and performing additional tasks as assigned by the Foreman. |
